The U.S Foreign Policy and Economic Reforms in Egypt and Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The Middle East as a region with huge energy resources and high potential for dispute always has a special place in the U.S. policy – making. The September 11 event made clear more than ever that the U.S. interests and security depended on the stability in the Middle East. Therefore, after the policy of the promotion of democracy, the U.S. proposed a plan for economic reform in the region. These policies aim at converging the region with the world order as desired by the U.S. This article tries to explore the economic reforms conducted in Egypt and Saudi Arabia inspired by the U.S. Middle Eastern polices and their implications.
