Abstract

This paper investigates the two concepts of cultural capital and economic culture and the relationship between them in the field of social sciences. Theories of Pierre Bourdieu and David Throsby were used in describing these two concepts. In Bourdieu's theories, concepts such as Habitus, Field and the Capital (In terms of social action and cultural capital's theories) and in Throsby's theory concepts such as Values, Goods and Cultural Industries (In terms of economy of culture's theory) have been raised. This article discusses the dialectical relationship between the above-mentioned issues too, so that the concept of taste in Bourdieu's ideas is a milestone that is effective in the economic relations (production and consumption) of cultural and artistic products. Finally, it can play an active role in the promotion of cultural capital of social actors and their economic capital trade in the field of cultural production.
