The Flow of Political Forces during the Years 1357-1362

Abstract

Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 was a victory for revolutionary forces consisting of a large numbers of the political elite who were out of politics before. They replaced those elites who had previously cooperated with the former regime. A law passed by the Revolutionary Council stated that political elite who had occupied political positions after 1963 should be deprived of assuming state responsibilities due to the illegitimacy of the monarchy system and their complicity in its oppressive policies. Islamic Revolution changed the situation completely. The new elites often had not necessary experience to run the country. With the emergence of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini as the supreme leader, focused on developing political forces who were loyal to him.
