The question of identity is posed in a society whose identity is in crisis. In the present situation of the Middle East fraught with many political, social economic and cultural crises, the question of identity seems to be completely a relevant one. Clash of identities in the region stems from its specific social and cultural structure and its ethnic and racial diversity with no solution in the prospect. The historical process of regional developments and the manner in which the nation – states were formed are among the factors which have been influential in identity clash in the Middle East.
